BENEFITS OF MASSAGE AND TECHNIQUES
Massage is recognized for its health enhancing effect. The healing systems of many cultures use hands-on treatments to soothe aches and pains and facilitate the body's own healing power. Massage therapy promotes body balance and efficient body function by affecting the soft tissue, and increasing the efficiency of blood circulation, the immune system, lymphatic system, respiratory system and digestive system. No matter what your age, infant to elderly, massage has been found to enhance general health and well-being. Everyone can benefit from massage.
The benefits include (but are not limited to): reducing the effects of daily stress, enhances general health by improving circulation, and alleviates problem conditions like muscle tension, chronic fatigue, headaches, TMJ, and fights the negative effects of aging by improving flexibility. Therapeutic Massage is part of a health/wellness lifestyle and the benefits are cumulative. In addition to massage, the therapist, within the scope of teaching and facilitation, may recommend self-help exercises which the client is may choose to do to prolong the effect of massage and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is best to receive massage every week to reduce the physical stress that builds in the body, and incorporate gentle stretching and other self help methods. Occasional appointments provide temporary symptomatic relief; but the cumulative effects of therapeutic massage are lost unless received on a regular basis.Treatment plans will be discussed on an individual basis.
